The
Hualapai Reservation is located at the western edge of the Grand Canyon, at the
point where Selma and Louise drove off and Evil Kneivel jumped over. The
Hualapai lands offer travel experiences one might not think of when thinking
about the Grand Canyon.
First, at the West
Rim, there are no crowds. Hualapai guides tell you about their homeland, and
about the Canyon, and about the bat guano mining company that located there in
the 1950's, having found a cave rich in the stuff along the canyon walls.

Second,
the Hualapai Reservation contains the only driveable road to the bottom of the
Grand Canyon. Third, the Hualapais Grand Canyon River Runners have one
and two-day motorized river rafting trips that make river rafting accessible to
anyone - as young as 8, and as old as anyone who wants to bear the cold
Colorado water. The trip can be adapted for the disabled - an incredible
experience that is otherwise not readily available. Best of all, a one-day
motorized trip allows even the least adventurous among us to experience the
rapids and still live to tell about it!
